For fever:

In addition to a basic febrifuge (Panadol®, available as Panadol Junior CHF 5.10). Moisturize the child, uncover him and cool him down in a 37° bath for 15 minutes (reading him a story, for example, to keep him waiting). Re-check the temperature after the bath.

In case of shock or contusion:

  • For minor injuries, run under cold water or apply a cold pack for ten minutes. An all-purpose homeopathic remedy: arnica granules 5 to 7 CH.
  • Mountain destinations: Beware of blisters: take these effective little plasters with you (Compeed®, Blister mix plaster, CHF 11.50).
  • For sprains: an elastic ankle bandage and an anti-inflammatory gel.

To prevent sunburn:

Sweat, rubbing with towels, sand and water dilute the layer of sunscreen, so don't hesitate to reapply a layer after each swim, on dry skin. Choose a high sun protection factor. For the very young, protect them even more by putting them in the shade and protecting them with anti-UV clothing and a hat.

The best protection is to avoid the sun at peak hours (between 11am and 4pm).
